A justiça do estado de Ohio, nos Estados Unidos, aplicou uma pena em Andrew Vactor , um jovem de 24 anos, por ele ouvir hip hop em alto volume no aparelho de som de seu carro.
A juíza Susan Fornof-Lippencott ofereceu ao rapaz duas opções: Pagar uma multa no valor de 150 dólares ou pagar 35 dólares e ouvir 20 horas de música clássica feita por compositores como Bach, Beethoven e Chopin. Vactor em um primeiro momento concordou com a segunda alternativa, mas mudou de idéia após 15 minutos de audição. "Não consegui suportar aquilo. Decidi pagar logo a multa e fim de papo", disse ele.
Segundo o site Blitz, Fornof-Lippencott diz que aplicou tal penalidade porque queria que Vactor percebesse o quão difícil é ouvir músicas que não fazem parte do gosto pessoal. "Penso que muita gente não gosta de ser forçada a ouvir música, mas acreditava que esta experiência o fizesse abrir horizontes", declarou a magistrada.
